Welcome to the FAQ page for Escapes MTB Coaching in Penticton, BC. Here you will find answers to some common questions about our beginner mountain biking course, advanced technical skills clinic, and customized private coaching sessions.
What equipment do I need for the beginner mountain biking course?
You will need a mountain bike in good working condition, a helmet, gloves, and appropriate footwear.
Disc brakes are highly recommended for all participants, however they are a must for intermediate riders over the age of 8 and all adults.
We recommend bringing water, snacks, and sunscreen.
Can I book a customized private coaching session for a group?
Yes, we offer customized private coaching sessions for individuals as well as small groups of up to 3 riders.

Are rental bikes available for the courses and clinics?
We do not currently offer rental bikes, but we can provide recommendations for local bike shops where you can rent equipment.
What is the cancellation policy for Private Bookings?
We require at least 48 hours notice for cancellations or rescheduling all sessions for Private Bookings.
Cancellations within 24hrs of a private booking are non refundable.
What is the cancellation policy for Summer Camps and Skills Clinics?
For Summer Camps and Skills Clinics, cancellations made within 2 weeks of the clinic, are non refundable unless the spot has been filled.
Escapes MTB will have a waitlist to assist filling the spot if necessary.
All cancellations subject to cancellation fee.
Are the coaching sessions suitable for all skill levels?
Yes, our coaching sessions are tailored to the skill level of the individual or group. Whether you're a beginner looking to improve your basic skills or an experienced rider wanting to master advanced techniques, we can help.
What is the duration of the Summer Camps?
The course typically runs for 3 hours, depending on the group size and skill level of the participants, from 9am to 12pm.
What is the duration of the Weekender Skills Clinics?
Weekender Skills Clinics typically run for 3.5 - 4hrs and can either be 1 day or 2 day clinics.
Do you offer discounts for multiple children?
Yes, we offer multiple child discounts for summer camps for 3 or more kids.

Is there a minimum age requirement for the Weekender Skills Clinics?
Participants must be at least 14 years old to join the Weekender Skills clinic and must meet the clinics skill requirements and be able to climb and keep up with the group.
How do I book a Summer Camp or Private Session?
You can book online through our website or contact us directly to schedule a session.
Our calendar fills up quickly, so we recommend booking in advance.
Will my clinic be cancelled due to bad weather or poor air quality?
Clinics will not be cancelled due to bad weather, it is the riders responsibility to come prepared for any weather, kids included. In the event of lightening, measures will be taken to ensure safety.
In the event of severe poor air quality due to wild fire season, or extreme heat warnings, refunds will be issued.
How do I get to the trail head? Do you offer shuttle service?
Locations for our camps and clinics are still TBA, however often they will require a drop off.
Typically we do not offer shuttles, but with certain measures in place, we can make it happen.
Can I use an E-Bike in the Skills Clinics and Private Lessons?
Yes, E-Bike are permitted and the Instructors have additional training for E-Bikes.
Please inform us that you will be on an E-Bike and ensure that your battery is charged before the clinic.
