Beginner Program

An after-school mountain biking (MTB) program for beginner kids aged 6-9 years old would focus on creating a fun and supportive environment to help young riders build confidence, basic skills, and an appreciation for cycling. 

Program Overview:

  • Age Group: 6-9 years old, beginners
  • Days: Monday May 5th, 12th, 26th, and June 2nd
  • Time: 430-6pm
  • Duration: 1.5 hours per session
  • Group Size: Small groups (6 kids) to ensure personalized attention
  • Focus: Safety, fun, and skill-building in a relaxed environment
  • Cost: 100$/Rider

Key Objectives:

  1. Safety First: Teaching kids the importance of wearing helmets, pads, and understanding basic bike safety (checking their bikes, recognizing hazards, proper braking, etc.).
  2. Bike Handling Basics: Teaching the foundational skills needed for mountain biking, such as body position, braking, and cadence (gears)
  3. Confidence Building: Fostering a positive and supportive atmosphere where kids can overcome challenges, try new things, and gain self-confidence.
  4. Fun and Adventure: Incorporating games and obstacle courses to keep the kids engaged and make learning feel like play.

Begin-termediate Program

An after-school mountain biking (MTB) program for kids ages 6-9yrs who are confident beginner riders on their way to intermediate riding and would focus on building on the foundational skills while introducing more advanced techniques.

The emphasis would be on improving bike handling, confidence on various terrains, and fostering a love for outdoor adventure.

  • Age Group: 6-9yrs
  • Days: Monday June 9th, 16th, 23rd
  • Time: 430-6pm
  • Duration: 1.5 hours per session
  • Group Size: Small groups (6 kids) to ensure personalized attention
  • Focus: Provide a structured yet fun environment to challenge riders, allowing them to progress at their own pace while staying engaged.
  • Cost: 75$/Rider

Key Objectives:

  1. Skill Development: Progress from basic to intermediate bike handling skills, including cadence, tackling different types of terrain, and riding over obstacles.
  2. Confidence and Independence: Help kids develop a sense of independence and confidence in their riding abilities, whether they’re tackling a new skill or exploring new trails.
  3. Fun and Engagement: Keep kids excited and motivated through games, friendly challenges, and fun group rides, while subtly incorporating more advanced MTB techniques.
  4. Safety and Etiquette: Continue reinforcing safety, trail etiquette, and respect for others in a supportive environment.
